Waterford FC are delighted to announce the signing of Chloe Atkinson, who moves to the RSC for the 2025 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division.
Atkinson makes the move to the RSC, having spent the last three seasons with Cork City FC, where she made over 35 senior appearances for the Rebel Army.
The 20 year-old attacker joined Cork City’s WU17 from her hometown club Wilton United, where she showed her potential. Later that season, Chloe made her first-team debut at the age of 17, and has gone on to become a first-team regular since.
The exciting winger has international experience to her name, having been called up to the Republic of Ireland U17 side in 2022.
After making the move, Atkinson was delighted to be part of the group here at the RSC, commenting:
“I’m delighted to be making the move to Waterford. I’m excited to be in a new environment where I can develop and grow as a player. The team and coaching staff have been very welcoming which has made me feel even more determined to give my all. I’m looking forward to being a part of their first women’s senior team and can’t wait to begin the season.
As a winger I love using my pace and creativity to stretch defences and create opportunities for the team, I also provide strong defensive support when needed.”
Speaking on securing the service of Atkinson for 2025, Head Coach Gary Hunt commented:
“I’m delighted to welcome Chloe to the club for 2025. Chloe comes in with experience at senior level with Cork City and I’m looking forward to seeing her showcase her talents at the RSC in front of the blues fans. From what we have seen in pre-season I’m excited to see her attacking qualities on the ball & in the final third.
Chloe has been part of the group all of pre-season and has really settled in with the girls and now we look forward to being ready to compete come March 8th.”
Welcome to the Blues, Chloe!
