Waterford FC Women’s is Hess Sports Group’s first female football team, located in Ireland. It is the first female football team in Waterford and Hess Sports Group is very proud to have Waterford FC Women’s as our the first football club in the Hess Football portfolio.

Emily Edmonstone, Director of Hess Sports Group, expressed her enthusiasm for this groundbreaking venture: “I am very proud to be adding football to our sports portfolio. We believe in empowering women, and having the opportunity to start a female football club in Ireland does not only fill me with joy, I am immensely proud. I want to make sure we do the ladies playing justice, but of course also the community in Waterford and Ireland as a whole. Empowering the community and enabling the community to be involved is incredibly important to us. I look forward to working together with the people of Waterford to make sure this new team will be an inspiration to Waterford and that the people of Waterford are as proud of it as we are.”

Hess Football promotes inclusivity and opportunities for female players. There are workshops, and partnerships with schools and organisations to encourage participation at all levels. Hess Football is contributing to the growth and visibility of women’s football. The hope and aim is to break barriers and foster a culture of equality. The aim of the group is to be positioning themselves to gain momentum in top leagues worldwide, in order to promote not only the respective teams but also our group.
